Three New Espresso Machines from Host Milano 2023

The recent edition of the HostMilano trade show in Italy, held last week, showcased a wide array of new and dazzling coffee-making equipment. The organizers of this biennial event reported an impressive attendance of over 180,000 guests, who explored various segments of the hospitality and foodservice industry. Notably, the coffee and tea sector occupied four extensive expo halls, where equipment manufacturers proudly presented their latest advancements.

Attendees of the show widely expressed the belief that this year’s event surpassed its predecessor in terms of scale and significance, indicating the resumption of robust research and development as well as marketing efforts that may have been temporarily halted due to the pandemic.

We will explore 3 hand picked of the best launches in the world of Espresso Machines at this years Host Milano 2023.

First and in our opinion the best launches of 2023 is the Victoria Arduino E1 Prima Pro, part of the Nuova Simonelli group’s addition. This compact single group edition is built on its existing line of Prima E1. This new Pro model literally is identical to the commerical 2 group machine, The Black Eagle Maverick and borrows exactly the same 2.1inch touchscreen, some techonology, and follows closely with the launch of the E1 Prima EXP.

Victoria Aruino PureBrew+ was another successful and anticipated launch that attracted masses of visitors to the stand. We were no exception and eager to see how this new techonology can or has transformed the coffee industry. This new small footprint PureBrew+ looks exactly like a normal Mythos grinder from the rear but from the front it translate into an efficient machine that produces coffee, tea, bothanicals and infusions. You gain the ability to craft precise brewing receipes and options to save these resulting in beverages of higher quality and faster service.

The following machine was only a prototype but got our attention, Tone Touch E. This machine is designed to set new standard in sustainability and cutting edge technology.

“With our new Touch E, we deliver the most powerful espresso machine with the least amount of energy consumption in the global coffee market. The greenest energy is the energy we don’t use, and Tone takes responsibility for our children’s future,” says Tone Managing Director Jörg Krahl.

There was no significant development on the super automatic espresso machines or bean to cup some refer to. This side of the coffee machine development has declined and the contributing factors can be singled down to few, firstly due to consumer preferences towards more convienent and automated coffee solutions, and cost related as they are more significantly higher than other coffee brewing methods.

It’s important to note, while the development of bean to cup machines might be on the decline, the overall coffee industry continues to evolve and introduce new techonology, stability, sustainability and automation.
