Eureka Mignon is one of the top household automatic grinders on the market. Specialita is the newest and the highest version of the Mignon range. The grinder is compact and suitable for various brewing methods, from espresso to French press, and provides consistent grinding.
Use
An intuitive touch screen makes every operation extremely easy. You can quickly set the dose, program a single and double dose, and grind coffee continuously. The display also shows a dose counter.
A Hands-Free fork is suitable for every filter holder. Put the portafilter on it, and push it forward to activate the button that triggers grinding.
Grinding
Mignon is an All-Purpose grinder – you can grind coffee for various brewing methods. To set the coarseness, simply turn the micrometric regulation knob. Although it is stepless, it has a scale on it, which makes the whole process much easier. The grinding is precise and consistent. The most significant element here is the 55mm hardened steel burr. The outcome is about 1.4 – 1.8g/s when grinding for espresso, and 1.9 – 2.5 g/s with a coarser setting.

Mignon is also well-designed and well-fitted. It is available in a wide range of colourways. The body is made of metal, which makes it durable. A transparent, plastic hopper may hold up to 300g of beans

My 11yr old Compak K-3 touch was very tired, so I ordered a Eureka MIGNON SPECIALITA from CoffeeOmega this week. It arrived the following day (!) and the price was the best I could find online. The machine is excellent and far quieter than the K-3 and of course more consistent fine grind than the old guy. The machine is easy to get going with, and the adjustments required were minimal to get the correct dose and grind (11sec, Monmouth Expresso Beans Medium-Dark). The settings are easy access compared with the K-3 (which has its timer underneath the base). Great experience.

Ordered late evening 30-Dec-2020, arrived early morning 05-Jan-2021. Couldn’t ask for better service over the holidays. It’s early days – one flat white on default settings – but the results are impressive. For a diminutive machine that will fit unobtrusively in any kitchen, it’s got real weight and feels built like a tank. It’s also impressively quiet, and so simple to use. Great stuff!
