Brew using 10 default recipes 

Bloom & Brew
The Morning Machine’s flagship recipe, with a built-in Bloom stage (pre-wet/infusion) before the brew. This brews a stronger cup of coffee.

Short – Dark Roast
A recipe for short, espresso-style coffees. This recipe is suitable for coffees which are medium-dark roasted. These coffees tend to have a syrupy mouthfeel.

Short – Light Roast
A recipe for short, espresso-style coffees. This recipe is suitable for coffees which are lightly roasted. These coffees are tea-like in body, and showcase nuanced aromatics and flavour.

Long – Dark Roast
A recipe for a long black coffee, suitable for coffees which are medium-dark roasted. Use this recipe if the capsule is indicated to be enjoyed as a lunggo or long coffee

Long – Light Roast
A recipe for a long black coffee, suitable for coffees which are lightly roasted. Use this recipe if the capsule is indicated to be enjoyed as a lunggo or long coffee.

Ceremony
Inspired by the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, this recipe produces a rich brew. It’s perfect for medium-dark roasted coffees.

Short (for milk)
A ristretto-like recipe, suitable for coffees to be enjoyed with some milk. Perfect for your latte or cappuccino.

Mini Filter Brew
A tea-like recipe if you prefer to enjoy the coffee with less caffeine while still being able to enjoy a ‘long’ cup of coffee.

Kyoto Style Slow Drip
A 5-minute slow brew recipe if you like to enjoy your coffee over ice. Brew the recipe then add some ice cubes to your cup right after.

Classic
The Classic is like a familiar double espresso coffee. Creamy and robust. Perfect on its own, on the rocks or with a mixer

Brew-by-you Dashboard
Personalise your recipes to your palate using the Morning Mobile app. Store them in your recipe repertoire or directly to your machine for easy access.

Temperature Setting
Manipulating the temperature has an influence in the flavours you taste in the cup as it affects the different compounds in coffee. Coffee literature says that lower temperatures produces a cup with more acidity, lower in body, bitterness and sweetness. Whereas higher temperatures produce a cup with higher body, bitterness and sweetness.

At the end of the day, we use the temperature setting to alter the taste balance and the aroma of the coffee from the Morning Machine.

Pressure Profile
A first for coffee capsule brewing! As this is unchartered territory, we are learning more each day on how pressure affects coffee capsule brewing. The Morning Machine comes with traditional espresso pressure profiles, which you can try with your favourite capsules. It’s amazing how the flavour nuances change from one profile to the other.

A great example with the Morning Machine is that we can now pre-infuse or ‘bloom’ the coffee inside the capsule, which leads to a more syrupy cup of coffee. The possibilities are endless from here on

Coffee Output
This is how we control the strength of the cup. A shorter cup, or lower output (in weight), will result in more intense tasting experience. While a longer cup, higher weight output, will produce a cup that’s milder in mouthfeel and flavours. We have learned that capsule coffee brewing throws away the rules and ratios that we have learned from traditional espresso brewing.

With the Morning Machine, you are now able to control the output for each coffee, based on your preference, and achieve that experience consistently with the built-in scale.
